Sunday worship at Noonday is friendly and unhurried — about 75 minutes of hymns, scripture, prayer, and a sermon.

We invite all to come worship with us at Noonday Methodist Church.
Adult Sunday School is 9:30 a.m.
Sunday Morning Worship is 10:30 a.m.
A typical Sunday at Noonday
Worship at Noonday is friendly and unhurried. Service runs about 75 minutes. The order below is a guide — some Sundays we adapt for communion, baptism, music Sundays, or special seasons of the church year.
Before service
Coffee and conversation in the fellowship hall starting around 9:00 a.m. Adult Sunday School with Rev. Phillips runs from 9:30 to 10:15 in the ground-floor classroom. The sanctuary opens at 10:15.
Order of worship
- Prelude — quiet music as people gather.
- Welcome and announcements — brief; the week’s events and prayer requests.
- Call to worship — a scripture reading and an opening prayer.
- Hymns — led by the praise team. Hymnals are in the pew racks; lyrics are projected as well.
- Scripture readings — Old Testament, Epistle, and Gospel.
- Sermon — about 25–30 minutes. Recorded and posted to YouTube each week.
- Prayers of the people — pastoral prayer, with space for personal prayer.
- Offering — passed in pews. You can also give online.
- Communion — on the first Sunday of each month, and on special occasions.
- Closing hymn and benediction.
- Postlude — coffee and fellowship continue after service.
Special services
- Communion Sundays — the first Sunday of each month. All baptized Christians are welcome at the table.
- Music Sundays — quarterly, with extended music from the praise team and Bell Ringers, often followed by a pot luck lunch.
- Christian-year services — Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, Easter, Pentecost, Christmas Eve, and other observances.
- Veterans Sunday — an annual service honoring members of our congregation who have served.
Children in worship
Children of all ages are welcome in the sanctuary. A nursery is available for the youngest children. Wiggles, noise, and the occasional cookie crumb are expected and welcomed.
What to wear
Come as you are. Some folks dress up; many don’t. The point is being here.
